Welt was initially introduced as being very persistent in his goal of helping as many people as possible and vanquishing the Houkai beasts for good, as a result of his determination to become a hero who would one day save the Earth in honor of his deceased idol Welt Joyce. While he wore a similar outfit, albeit much intricate, he also carries a cane with him. In both Honkai: Star Rail and the "A Post-Honkai Odyssey" arc, Welt has a white stripe on his hair. His outfit consists of a white shirt, a gray longcoat, and a long, matching scarf. Welt is a middle-aged man has dark brown spiky hair and red eyes along with matching glasses.

He serves as a deuteragonist in Honkai Impact 3rd's "Second Eruption" manga, the open world "A Post-Honkai Odyssey", the main protagonist of its accompanying manga "Alien Space", and a deuteragonist in Honkai Star Rail. During the events of A Post-Honkai Odyssey, Welt retired from being the Anti-Entropy sovereign and took the job of an animation storyboards artist. Afterwards, he engaged in multiple long battles with Sirin, the Herrscher of the Void. Following the death of Welt Joyce, he acquired the Core of Reason and became the next 1st Herrscher. He is the current "Sovereign" of Anti-Entropy, and the "First Herrscher" (otherwise known as the "Herrscher of Logic/Reason"). Joachim Nokianvirtanen (better known as Welt Yang) is a supporting overarching hero in Honkai Impact 3rd.
